During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 237 complaints, including a resident scammed out of thousands of dollars after responding to a call impersonating the Canada Border Services Agency.
There are now 81 active cases in the Island Health region. This includes 36 in the central island region (one fewer than yesterday), 19 in the north and 26 in the south.
“Although the Parksville-Qualicum Beach region and Vancouver Island are considered low risk, it is important we keep prevention measures top of mind,” said Mayor Mayne
The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for public assistance in locating a 32-year-old man who has not been seen since March 2020.
The deer are suspected to have died from Adenovirus Hemorrhagic Disease (AHD), but the province said further testing is needed to confirm the diagnosis. B.C. has never documented cases of the disease before.
