A resident was scammed out of over $30,000 after responding to a Microsoft virus pop up and allowing remote access to their computer on March 28.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 255 complaints, including a potted Bonsai tree reported stolen in the 400 block of Yambury Road, Qualicum Beach.
During this time period Oceanside RCMP received 226 complaints, including a boat and trailer stolen, and later recovered by RCMP, in Parksville.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 190 complaints, including $6,000 in damages to seven windows of a Parksville school.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 221 complaints, including a Canada Post box broken into in the Qualicum Beach area.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 214 complaints, including illegal log harvesting reported on private land.
“This is a completely unacceptable act. My staff have been working hard to serve our community throughout the pandemic and ensure people have the support they need. They should not be subjected to threatening or violent behaviour at their place of work,” MP Gord Johns said in an emailed statement.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 233 complaints, including a business break and enter in Coombs.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 213 complaints, including two excavators reported vandalized in Whiskey Creek.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 234 complaints, including reports of catalytic converters stolen in Qualicum Beach, Parksville and Errington.
