A group calling itself Team Red has started a fitness tracking campaign where it aims to collectively travel 40,000 km, or 100,000 laps of a running track.
Council voted at its March 29 meeting to use money from the federal gas tax fund (GTF) to support the proposed track.
“I’ve spent countless hours training on the Ballenas track and I can tell you it is in shocking, terrible condition that’s only getting worse,” said Juliette Desvaux, a former Ballenas Secondary student.
