The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and members of the public can check out live training demonstrations at 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Arrowsmith Search and Rescue said the second quarter of the year was relatively quiet.
Mayor Brian Wiese and Coun. Scott Harrison voted against deferral and said it would be better to pay up and seek help from partners after.
