Douglas Holmes was selected by the board of directors after a cross-Canada search and brings over 25 years of experience in the public sector.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP said it received 295 complaints, including stolen and found bicycles.  
The Regional District of Nanaimo’s electoral area services committee carried a motion to support construction of the tower at 210 Cochrane Road at its June 7 meeting.
The regional district will now only hold COW meetings at the discretion of the board.
Some directors pointed out the district’s limited ability to enforce a bylaw banning sale and/or discharge of fireworks.
Nanoose Volunteer Fire Department responded to Sleepy Hollow Storage near Parksville late Friday (May 21) night after reports of a storage locker on fire.
“With this grant, the RDN and Lantzville have the opportunity to provide volunteers with training in their own community,” said Tyler Brown, RDN chair.
Anyone who is signed up for the district’s Get Involved platform by May 31 has a chance to win one of four prizes.
“The Corporate Carbon Neutral 2032 Plan (CCNP) complements the RDN’s Strategic Plan and provides the necessary framework to reach our carbon neutral goals,” said Chair Tyler Brown. “This is good for our environment and human health.”
The $735,000 rear-mount pumper provides firefighters with an adaptable apparatus that will better enable them to respond to fires in rural areas.
