A 30-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Nanaimo yesterday evening (April 4).
B.C.’s civil forfeiture program is responding to what the provincial government calls “disturbing crime trends” by going after several tools linked to dangerous activities in the drug trade.
A 41-year-old Parksville man faces a list of charges, including hit and run, dangerous driving, obstruction, possession of stolen property and prohibited driving.
RCMP Forensics specialists from Port Alberni attended to examine the scene and police believe the deaths to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
“When the RCMP, who are meant to protect us, are the ones shooting us, we are in real trouble,” said Mariah Charleson, vice president of the Nuu-chah-nulth.
