They were struck from behind while walking single file along the shoulder facing oncoming traffic. The force of the collision pushed the two people and their pets into the ditch, according to Nanaimo RCMP.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 260 complaints, including reports of Canada Post boxes being vandalized in Parksville, Nanoose Bay, Qualicum Beach and French Creek. It is unknown how much, if any, mail was stolen.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 190 complaints, including $6,000 in damages to seven windows of a Parksville school.
RCMP were called to a residence early in the morning of March 10 after the occupant was reportedly confined and threatened with a firearm.
Police were alerted when a Parksville resident noticed someone passed out in the driver’s seat.
Police continue to investigate and there is no public safety risk, according to Sgt. Shane Worth.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 234 complaints, including reports of catalytic converters stolen in Qualicum Beach, Parksville and Errington.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 202 complaints, including a suspicious dumpster fire in Parksville.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 218 complaints, including a business break and enter in Qualicum Beach.
During this time period Oceanside RCMP received 242 complaints, including a child’s play shelter damaged in Parksville.
