Oceanside Crime

A resident was scammed out of over $30,000 after responding to a Microsoft virus pop up and allowing remote access to their computer on March 28.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 255 complaints, including a potted Bonsai tree reported stolen in the 400 block of Yambury Road, Qualicum Beach.
During this time period Oceanside RCMP received 226 complaints, including a boat and trailer stolen, and later recovered by RCMP, in Parksville.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 221 complaints, including a Canada Post box broken into in the Qualicum Beach area.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 224 complaints, including break and enter incidents reported in Deep Bay, Errington, Parksville and Qualicum Beach.
A 49-year-old man was arrested and later released.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 233 complaints, including a business break and enter in Coombs.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 187 complaints, including a green cast iron table and chairs stolen in Parksville.
The most recent incident was last week when a charging station near the public washrooms at Qualicum Beach’s waterfront was damaged, according to Roy Collver, director of Mid Island Electric Vehicle Association.
During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 224 complaints, including a report of a vandalized public washroom in Parksville Community Park.
