McMillan

Three new exhibitions by local artists are coming to the McMillan Arts Centre (MAC) this month. The work will be on display from Jan. 18 – Feb. 27.
The McMillan Arts Centre (MAC) has received a $2,500 donation from EPCOR, through its Heart + Soul Fund, in support of the MAC’s art therapy programs.
Each painting was a collaborative effort by three artists, who were assigned a third of the canvas, but did not know what their partners were painting.
The free event will run from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the MAC and lunch will be provided.
A motion by Coun. Mark Chandler to bring back the conversation was not seconded.
Artists of all ages submitted their vision of a welcome bench for the community. The results are now displayed publicly from Nanoose to Lighthouse Country.
Parksville will be one of at least 55 communities in B.C. and over 1,000 across Canada participating in this year’s Culture Days.
Forty paintings from Richard Alm’s Spatialist Nouveau: the rise of structured canvas in the art world will be displayed in the McMillan Arts Centre from June 1 – 27.
