The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has updated its policies in response to the latest provincial health officer orders.

The previous mandate was set to expire Oct. 31.
Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, said vaccine eligibility will not be age-based as often families have more than one child.
The rule took effect today (Aug. 25) and applies to passengers over 12, regardless of vaccination status.
A new temporary order from the provincial health officer will require people 12 and older to wear masks in indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status.
