Eight Parksville and Comox Valley retirees will tackle the 10 km Virtual Vancouver Sun Run this month to raise funds to put Kenyan students through high school, where tuition is not free.
Vancouver Island University (VIU) is expanding the footprint of its international cooperation efforts in East Africa with the help of two other B.C. post-secondary partners.
Walkers, runners and wheelchair users can sign up as individuals or teams and participate at a location and day of their choice from April 15–24.
“It gives you a better perspective on what is important,” said Dick Glassford, a volunteer KEEF board member who lives in Parksville.
Vancouver Island University (VIU) has joined an initiative focused on increasing the participation of young Kenyans, particularly women, in skills training programs.
