The COVID-19 outbreak at the Gardens at Qualicum Beach long-term care home has been declared over by Island Health.
Island Health declared an outbreak at the facility Jan. 28.
The outbreak is limited to the facility’s Sandpiper unit, according to Island Health. 
Residents of Dufferin Place are, in general, experiencing mild symptoms, according to Island Health.
Island Health says two Nanaimo long-term care home COVID-19 outbreaks are over.
Nine COVID-19 cases in residents have been identified at a Nanaimo long-term care home.
Island Health has declared COVID-19 outbreaks at five long-term care homes, including two in Nanaimo.
A COVID-19 outbreak at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital’s (NRGH) transitional care unit has been declared over by Island Health.
A second resident has tested positive for COVID-19 at Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence in Nanaimo.
Island Health said the outbreak continues to be limited to the transitional care unit.
