B.C.’s premier will start radiation treatment in the next few weeks after tests confirmed a growth on his throat was cancerous.
The premier announced Mike Farnworth, minister of public safety and solicitor general, will be appointed deputy premier “out of an abundance of caution.”
The campaign will raise funds for PSMA-PET: state-of-the-art imaging technology used to optimize and inform treatment for prostate cancer patients.
“Unless we have these facilities on site, we are not going to be able to treat heart attacks,” said Dr. Arun Natarajan, a cardiologist at NRGH. “It’s very unusual that we don’t have this facility here.”
