Oceanside RCMP received 288 complaints between Oct. 25 and Oct. 31. Police ask anyone who has info on these incidents to phone the Oceanside RCMP non-emergency number at 250-248-6111.

Local navy veteran enjoyed a career sailing the Pacific Ocean

Life at sea is not easy, but a Qualicum Beach navy veteran said he enjoyed visiting many ports during his career sailing around the Pacific Ocean. The best memories of his 35 years of service are of the people he met, according to Bill Layman.

RDN recycling used collection containers

Residents of the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) can recycle their used collection containers by drop off or pickup until Nov. 30. Clean collection bins can be put out for curbside pickup between Nov. 17 and 28, the day after their regularly scheduled collection day.

Qualicum Beach council votes to stop demolition of St Andrews Lodge

Demolition work on St Andrews Lodge in Qualicum Beach has been halted. Town council voted to open a conversation with the Qualicum Beach Community Education and Wellness Society (QCEWS) to establish a society that could take lead in restoring and operating the building.
