Parksville fire department food and toy drive will look different this year

The Parksville Volunteer Fire Department food and toy drive will look very different this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be no door-to-door collection, but firefighters will be taking cash donations for the Salvation Army food bank at several yet-to-be-announced locations on Nov. 14 and 15.

Parksville council votes to provide a new childcare facility

Parksville could be getting a new licensed childcare facility next year, if funding is successful. Council unanimously approved a resolution to work with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Vancouver Island (BGCCVI) to provide a new licensed childcare facility and other associated child, youth and parent programming in the city.
