Parksville Council votes to donate, rather than demolish historic water tower

The City of Parksville will allow a local piece of history to be relocated rather than demolished, as originally planned. Council voted unanimously to transfer ownership of a 101-year-old water tower to the E&N division of the Canadian Railroad Historical Association (ENCRHA). The city will also provide $35,000, originally budgeted to demolish the building, to restore the structure.

Oceanside RCMP Crime Round-up Oct. 11 – 17.

Oceanside RCMP received 269 complaints between Oct. 11 and Oct. 17. Police ask anyone who has info on these incidents to phone the Oceanside RCMP non-emergency number at 250-248-6111.
