Parksville Volunteer Fire Department will host a charity carwash on April 30 to support the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund.
The firefighters will be out at the fire hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., ready to make cars sparkle and shine in return for a donation, according to a media release by the department.
“Firefighters donate their time so let’s see just how many cars, motorcycles, or scooters (the dirtier the better) they can wash for this great cause. No vehicle? You are welcome to come by the firehall and watch the fun,” reads the release.
The BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund provides life-saving, life-supporting and life-enriching services to people across B.C.
Visitors to the carwash will remain in their vehicles for safety reasons. As well as washing cars in return for a donation, crews will be on hand to chat about being a paid on-call firefighter with the Parksville Volunteer Fire Department.
Parksville Fire Hall is located at 160 Jensen Ave West — carwash visitors are asked to enter off Jensen Avenue West.
