Thieves steal catalytic converter from Parksville municipal vehicle— Oceanside Crime Report March 13–19

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 226 complaints, including a boat and trailer stolen, and later recovered by RCMP, in Parksville. 

Vehicle theft

-A grey 2002 Ford F250, BC plate BA4586, was reported stolen in the 100 block of Weld Street, Parksville, on March 15.

-A 2018 black Jonhua MT5X7 utility trailer, BC plate WFB61P, was reported stolen in the 1100 block of Roberton Blvd, Parksville, on March 16.

-A boat and trailer were reported stolen in the 200 block of James Street, Parksville, on March 16. The boat and trailer were recovered by RCMP on March 21.

Break and enter

-A business break and enter was reported in the 500 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on March 13. Several computer towers and petty cash box were among the items noted missing.

-A business break and enter was reported in the 1400 block of Huntley Road, Parksville, on March 13. Two Ingenico Tetra Move 5000 payment processing machines were noted missing.

-A residential break and enter was reported in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on March 13. One male subject was apprehended by RCMP.

-A business break and enter was reported in the 2300 block of Fowler Road, Qualicum Beach, on March 17. 

Theft

-A pair of binoculars, sunglasses and DVDs were reported stolen from two vehicles in the 1400 block of Romain Road, Errington, on March 13.

-Mail was reported stolen from residential mailboxes in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on March 13.

-An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 1300 block of Price Road, Parksville, on March 13.

-A female prowler was reported to have stolen a bag of recycling and moving blankets in the 1100 block of Dobler Road, Parksville, on March 14.

-A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on March 14.

-Fishing equipment and credit cards were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4300 block of Garrod Road, Bowser, on March 15.

-Booster cables were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Allwood Road, Parksville, on March 15. 

-A flashlight was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Vine Drive, Parksville, on March 15.

-A dash cam and a black backpack with painting supplies were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Mulberry Place, Parksville, on March 15. The backpack and contents were recovered.

-Insurance papers were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Clarkson Place, Parksville, on March 15.

-A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a municipal vehicle in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, on March 16.

-Construction lumber was reported stolen from a property in the area of Moss Avenue and Despard Avenue, Parksville, on March 17.

-Two planters were reported stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Roberton Blvd, Parksville, on March 19.

-A striped multi-coloured Vivere hammock was reported stolen from a residence in 200 block of Chestnut Street, Parksville, on March 19.

Vandalism

-A vehicle was reported vandalized in the area of Inland Highway and Alberni Highway, Parksville, on March 13. Appears a hole was drilled to drain fuel from vehicle.

-A chain link gate was reported damaged in the 2300 block of Fowler Road, Qualicum Beach, on March 14.

-A fence was reported vandalized in the 400 block of Gilbert Road, Qualicum Beach, on March 14.

-A Canada Post mailbox was reported vandalized in the first block of Trill Drive, Parksville, on March 14. Unknown if any mail was missing.

-A Canada Post mailbox was reported vandalized in the 500 block of Corfield Street South, Parksville, on March 14. Unknown if any mail was missing.

-Graffiti was reported in the 1800 block of Kaye Road, Nanoose Bay, on March 19.

-A residential fence gate was vandalized in the 700 block of Stanhope Road, Parksville, on March 19.

Prowler

-A prowler was reported in the 800 block of Mulholland Drive, Parksville, on March 15.
