A weekend food bank drive raised over $3,500 in cash and a police car full of food and other necessities for the Mount Arrowsmith Salvation Army Food Bank.

The March 12 drive, organized by Oceanside Community Safety and Oceanside RCMP, was held outside the Wembley Mall Save-On-Foods and saw residents fill a police cruiser with donations.

“Thank you to Save-On-Foods for the space and everyone who donated much needed food and money for the local food bank,” said Sgt. Shane Worth. “This event certainly highlighted the generosity of the Oceanside community.”

Oceanside Community Safety works in partnership with various organizations and agencies, including the Oceanside RCMP, to provide public safety and crime prevention programs to residents.
