Vandals smashed the windows at the Parksville constituency office of Gord Johns, MP for Courtenay-Alberni, some time overnight.

“This is a completely unacceptable act. My staff have been working hard to serve our community throughout the pandemic and ensure people have the support they need,” Johns said in an emailed statement. “They should not be subjected to threatening or violent behaviour at their place of work.”

Police said entry was not made to the office, which had its front glass door and two exterior windows smashed.

“Investigators are canvassing the area for video surveillance,” said Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP, in a media release.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the detachment at (250) 248-6111.
