A COVID-19 outbreak at a Nanaimo long-term care home has grown to 27 resident cases.

Residents of Dufferin Place are, in general, experiencing mild symptoms, according to Island Health.

The cases were confirmed via PCR testing and follow ups from Island Health’s case and contact management team.

Nine cases were identified on Jan. 13 and prompted Island Health to declare an outbreak at the facility.
