Parksville hosting COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week

The Parksville Community Centre (PCC) will host several COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week.

People 12 and up can drop in for a first or second dose Jan. 18–20 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. Third doses are available with an appointment.

The community centre will also host age 5–11 vaccine clinics on Jan. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. and Jan. 22 from 9 a.m to 3:50 p.m. Appointments are required for pediatric (age 5–11) doses.

The PCC is located at 132 Jensen Ave East.

Children and adults must be registered in the province’s Get Vaccinated system in order to make an appointment. Anyone living in Island Health is welcome, including those without personal health numbers and/or people who are not residents of B.C.

Before receiving a COVID-19 vaccine dose, Island Health recommends:

-Eat something and hydrate before coming to the clinic

-Wear loose clothing, and ensure layers are easy-to-remove

-Do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for your appointment 

-Bring your booking confirmation and photo ID

-Respect the personal space of others inside the clinic 

-Do not call the clinics or sites directly
