24-inch sword found on Parksville street — Oceanside Crime Report Jan. 2–8

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 218 complaints, including a business break and enter in Qualicum Beach.

Found — Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

-A red Nakamura mountain bike was found in the 100 block of Ford Avenue, Parksville, on Jan. 2.

-A 24-inch sword and sheath were found in the area of Middleton Avenue, Parksville, on Jan. 3.

-A black leather duffle bag containing new men’s clothing was found in the 800 block of Retegno Avenue, Parksville, on Jan. 4.

-A suspected iPhone 9 was found in the area of Alberni Highway and Highway 19, Parksville, on Jan. 4.

Lost — Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours if found.

-A 35-year-old Rolex GMT Master II Coke watch was lost in the 700 block of Jones Street, Qualicum Beach, on Jan. 6.

Break and enter

-A business break and enter was reported in the 3500 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum, on Jan. 2. Estimated damages of $2,000 to replace door and frame.

-A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1300 block of Valley Road, Parksville, on Jan. 4. A catalytic converter was noted stolen from a vehicle, as well as 250 feet of copper wire.

Counterfeit bills

-A counterfeit Canadian $100 bill was accepted by a business in the Parksville, area on Jan. 4.

Vandalism

-A building was vandalized in the 100 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on Jan. 4. A wooden railing was noted burnt nearby.

Theft

-B.C. plate JG5272 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on Jan. 4. 

-B.C. plate R24507 was reported stolen in the 1400 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on Jan. 4. 

-Propane was reported stolen from a business in the 3600 block of Alberni Highway, Whiskey Creek, on Jan. 5. 

-A catalytic converter and fuel were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Ravensbourne Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on Jan. 7.

-A B.C. plate validation sticker, 78534767, expiry 2022-09-29, was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of First Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on Jan. 7.

-A B.C. plate validation sticker, 98340964, expiry 2022-11-15, was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of Island Highway West, Nanoose Bay, on Jan. 7.

-A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Laburnum Road and Claymore Road West, Qualicum Beach, on Jan. 8.
