The Town of Qualicum Beach is warning residents to avoid areas along the waterfront after the seawall was damaged by high waves combined with a king tide.

The walkway and beachfront from the roundabout to Sand Pebbles Inn has been closed, along with the marine spit and waterfront washrooms, according to a media release from the town.

The town said many other areas along the waterfront are hazardous and the whole area should be avoided.
