Hot water tank stolen from Parksville home — Oceanside Crime Report Dec. 12–18

During this time period Oceanside RCMP received 242 complaints, including a child’s play shelter damaged in Parksville.

Break and enter

-A residential break and enter was reported in the 800 block of Wembley Road, Parksville, on Dec. 13. A door was noted damaged, hot water tank missing and personal effects stolen.

-A business break and enter was reported in the 900 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville, on Dec. 16. A damaged vehicle found in a ditch nearby was noted as being stolen from the business.

Stolen vehicle 

-A vehicle was reported stolen in the 100 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on Dec. 16. The vehicle was recovered in Nanaimo on Dec. 18.

-A vehicle was reported stolen in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on Dec. 17. The vehicle was recovered in Nanaimo on Dec. 18.

Theft

-Slabs of white quartz were reported stolen by two males from a business in the 100 block of Industrial Way, Parksville on Dec. 13.

-A wallet and contents were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Forsyth Avenue, Parksville, on Dec. 14.

-A wallet and Milwaukee cordless tools were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2600 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on Dec. 15.

-Fuel was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2600 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on Dec. 15.

-An alert resident noticed a vehicle with two different license plates in the 600 block of Neden Way, Parksville, on Dec. 16. RCMP seized both plates as they did not belong to vehicle.

-Sunglasses and a black Footjoy jacket were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on Dec. 16. Vehicle sustained damage to driver side door.

-An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the first block of Woodland Drive, Parksville, on Dec. 17.

-A 30” Westinghouse flat screen TV and an Interstate deep cycle battery were reported stolen from a travel trailer in the 900 block of Virginia Road, Coombs, on Dec. 17.

Property damage

-A security camera was reported damaged in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on Dec. 13.

-A child’s play shelter was reported damaged in the 100 block of Moss Avenue, Parksville, on Dec. 14.

-A vehicle was reported damaged in the 1000 block of Lee Road, Parksville, on Dec. 14. Damage was estimated at $1,000, which included a broken window, tampered door handle and ignition.

-A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on Dec. 15. A door lock was noted damaged and fuel filler hose cut.

-A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 1000 block of Lee Road, Parksville on Dec. 16. Damage was noted to ignition.

-A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 100 block of Moilliet Street North, Parksville, on Dec. 18. Damage was noted to the ignition.

Found – contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

-A red Next Inferno full suspension bicycle was found in the 1300 block of Gilley Crescent, Parksville, on Dec. 12.
