A new brew pub opened today (Dec. 16) in Qualicum Beach that will employ 14 full-time staff, according to its owner and general manager.
“We’re super excited. It took us about 10 minutes, I think, to fill the space up from open, so we’re pretty happy about that,” said Matt Hill, Fern + Cedar owner and general manager.
Hill said he hoped to open the pub as early as September, but supply chain issues delayed the grand opening by a few months.
“Supplies are really hard to come by these days. The floods didn’t help anything as well. COVID was definitely a struggle, but we were able to get through it and we’re just happy to be where we’re at now,” Hill said.
