Drivers in Oceanside and around east Vancouver Island will want to take extra care on the roads today (Dec. 6).

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for an area stretching from Campbell River to Duncan.

Areas near the water could see between 5-15 cm and residents further inland could see up to 25 cm today. The snow is expected to fall through the afternoon, according to Environment Canada. Snow will transition to rain or wet snow mixed with rain near mid-day.

“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas,” reads a release by Environment Canada.
