The Oceanside local health area reported 34 new COVID-19 cases from Oct. 24-30, a significant increase from the 20 recorded the previous week.
Eighty-eight per cent of Oceanside residents over 12 have been given at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 84 per cent are fully vaccinated, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s (BC CDC) COVID-19 surveillance dashboard.
Island Health reported 54 new COVID-19 cases today (Nov. 4). There are 517 active cases in the health authority, including 323 in the central Vancouver Island region.
Over the past 24 hours, eight more people died of COVID-19 in B.C. — three in Fraser Health, three in Northern Health and two in Vancouver Coastal Health, according to a media release from the province.
B.C. recorded 596 new cases, bringing the active case number to 4,451, including 438 people in hospital, 130 of whom are in critical care.
Over 90 per cent (4,176,649) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 85.6 per cent (3,968,494) have received their second dose, according to the province.
