City of Parksville to install seasonal lights on Alberni Highway this week

Crews will install seasonal lights on trees along the Alberni Highway in Parksville this week. 

Parking will be extremely limited between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, while several trucks are out as workers put up the lights, the city said in a release.

Crews will work in unison along the Alberni Highway and once the lights have been installed on the trees, parking spaces will be made available.

  • Starting at the CIBC at Highway 19A, on the west side moving up the Alberni
  • Starting near the Royal Bank, on the east side moving down the Alberni Highway.

Lights will be installed on the Sequoia near the town clock on Nov. 22 and the end of Morison Avenue near Island Highway 19A will be closed to traffic for most of the day while work is underway.
