Three fire departments respond to early morning RV fire near Qualicum Beach

No injuries were reported after Dashwood Fire Department responded to an RV on fire in a compound in the 3300 block of Island Highway West.

The vehicle was fully involved when fire crews arrived on scene around 5:30 a.m. this morning (Oct. 14), according to Fire Chief Nick Acciavatti. He added the RV was unoccupied at the time of the blaze. 

Dashwood Fire responded with two engines, a water tender and a rescue truck. It also received mutual aid from the Qualicum Beach and Coombs fire departments, which sent one engine each, according to Acciavatti.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
