Qualicum Beach town councillor Anne Skipsey is self-isolating due to COVID-19.

Despite feeling under the weather, Skipsey attended council’s Oct. 6 regular meeting, where she made the announcement.

“I am only telling people because I know we have been doing all the things we are supposed to be doing for a very long time now,” she said.

“COVID and its highly contagious Delta variant is in our community and even if you are double vaccinated, you can still get COVID and it could impact those with compromised immune systems and the elderly.”

Skipsey encouraged the community to continue to take precautions to protect themselves and their neighbours from the virus.
