The Oceanside local health area recorded 14 new COVID-19 cases from Sept. 5–11, the same number it reported the week before.
Eighty-five per cent of Oceanside residents over 12 have been given at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s (BC CDC) COVID-19 surveillance dashboard.
Island Health reported 81 new COVID-19 cases today (Sept. 16). There are 581 active cases in the health authority, including 258 in the central Vancouver Island region.
Over the past 24 hours, four more people died of COVID-19 in B.C. — three were in the Fraser Health region and one was in Northern Health, according to a media release from the province.
B.C. recorded 706 new cases, bringing the active case number to 5,844, including 291 people in hospital, 134 of whom are in critical care.
Over 86 per cent (3,998,779) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 78.8 per cent (3,652,033) have received their second dose, according to the province.
