Parksville construction site broken into — Oceanside Crime Report Aug. 21–27

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP said it received 270 complaints, including a telephone fraud by a person posing as a Telus employee.

Break and enter

-A DVD player and change were reported stolen in a residential break and enter in the 3500 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 26.

-A construction site break and enter was reported in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, on Aug. 27. Suspects fled the scene as police arrived.

-Two storage locker break and enters were reported in the 1700 block of Country Road, Qualicum, on Aug. 27.

Theft

-Two wallets were reported stolen from a campsite in the area of Horne Lake Road and Bay Road East, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 21.

-Change, an iPad Air 3 and a lunch box were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3400 block of Goodrich Road, Nanoose Bay, on Aug. 22.

-A generator and three inflatable paddle boards were reported stolen in the 1000 block of Shayla Road, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 23.

-Six message board batteries were reported stolen in the area of Kaye Road and Chattel Road, Nanoose Bay, on Aug. 24.

-A tool kit was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville on Aug. 25. 

-Two truck running boards were reported stolen from a property in the 2000 block of Saddle Drive, Nanoose Bay, on Aug. 26.

-A Ryobi reciprocating saw including 18 volt Ryobi battery pack were reported stolen in the 1900 block of Widgeon Road, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 27.

Fraud

-A resident reported a telephone fraud by a person posing as an employee of Telus selling a discount package of services, in Parksville, on Aug. 23.

Vandalism

-Election signs were reported defaced in the area of Alberni Highway and Britannia Blvd, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 24.

-A commercial sign was reported vandalized in the 1800 block of Kaye Road, Nanoose Bay, on Aug. 25.

-The security gate of a business was reported vandalized in the 100 block of Morrison Avenue, Parksville, on Aug. 26.

-Exterior water taps were reportedly left opened twice on a property in the 1000 block of Shayla Road, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 26.

-Drug paraphernalia and remnants of a small fire in the doorway of a business was reported in the 200 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on Aug. 24. 

Found – Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

-A silver Raleigh mountain bike was found in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on Aug. 23.

-A blue CCM mountain bike was found in the 1000 block of Canterbury Place, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 23.

-A Stihl gas powered leaf blower was found in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on Aug. 26.
