Island Health has added a second Vax Van to make COVID-19 vaccination as convenient as possible for Island residents.
The vans will be set up at popular shopping centres in Victoria and Nanaimo this long weekend and will begin visiting post-secondary campuses across Vancouver Island starting next week, according to a media release from Island Health.
Vax Van teams will set up at the following locations in the coming days:
-Sept. 4: Uptown Centre in Victoria from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-Sept. 5: Mayfair Shopping Centre in Victoria from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-Sept. 6: Woodgrove Centre in Nanaimo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Island Health said anyone born in 2009 or earlier is welcome to attend and receive their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Second doses are available 28 days or more after a first dose. Island Health asks people to bring their personal health number and COVID-19 immunization record card, if possible.
Starting next week, post-secondary students and staff are invited to attend temporary on-campus COVID-19 immunization clinics. Friends, family and members of the public who are 12 and older are also welcome to attend the clinics, including those who do not have personal health numbers and people who are not residents of B.C., according to Island Health.
