BC Ferries will test out late-night sailings on the Tsawwassen – Duke Point route for a month, starting Sept. 7.

The sailings will transport commercial vehicles and a limited number of regular passengers, according to a media release from BC Ferries. Sailings, provided by the Queen of New Westminster, will depart Tsawwassen at 9:15 p.m. and depart Duke Point at 12:15 a.m. Monday through Thursday evenings.

The additional sailings are expected to help to address the increased demand for commercial goods that has been driven by the growth of e-commerce, groceries and general freight, the release said.

BC Ferries said it recommends customers book the sailings in advance. No catering services will be offered on the trips, so BC Ferries encourages customers to bring a snack with them or to use the vending machines onboard.
