Vehicle stolen and recovered, residential break-ins — Oceanside Crime Report Aug. 7–13

During this time the Oceanside RCMP said it received 331 complaints, including four residential break and enter incidents.

Break and enter

-A residential break and enter was reported in the 200 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville, on Aug. 12. There was damage to the property and a laptop was stolen. A suspect was arrested.

-A residential break and enter was reported in the 3100 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 13. Unlocked vehicles, storage rooms and offices were accessed. A suspect was arrested.

-A residential break and enter was reported in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on Aug. 12. Thieves were reported to have stolen a microwave and totes.

-A residential break and enter was reported in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on Aug. 13. Mail, keys and surveillance system equipment was noted stolen.

Theft

-A vehicle was reported stolen in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on Aug. 12. It was recovered the following day.

-A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a retirement home vehicle in the 100 block of First Avenue West, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 9.

-Prescription sunglasses and a wallet were some of the items reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1600 block of Stroulger Road, Nanoose Bay.

-A red and black trim Husky Brand Carpenters bag containing foot care products was reported stolen from a driveway in the 1300 block of Errington Road, Errington, on Aug. 10.

-A validation sticker was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of Tamarack Drive, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 11.

-A black Marin Fairfax hybrid mountain bicycle was reported stolen in the 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville, on Aug. 11.

-BC plate MT2068 with the validation sticker was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on Aug. 12.

Prowlers

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 900 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville, on Aug. 7.

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 700 block of Humphrey Road, Parksville, on Aug. 7.

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on Aug. 7.

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 3200 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum, on Aug. 9. Recyclable bottles were reported missing over the past several months.

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 100 block of Bayridge Place, Bowser, on Aug. 11.

-A nighttime prowler was reported to have caused yard damage in the 200 block of McKinnon Street, Parksville, on Aug. 12.

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 800 block of Beach Road, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 12.

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 600 block of Ermineskin Avenue, Parksville, on Aug. 13.

-A nighttime prowler was reported in the 800 block of Beach Road, Qualicum Beach, on Aug. 13.

Found – contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

-Two vehicle tires on rims were found in the parking lot of the Englishman River Estuary Park, Parksville, on Aug. 9th.

-A cell phone was found in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue West, Parksville, on Aug. 10.

-A Razor brand scooter was found in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on Aug. 11.

-A black case containing Stanley ratchets were found in the 2300 block of Andover Road, Nanoose Bay, on Aug. 13.
