Island Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at the Discovery Harbour long-term care home in Campbell River.

The outbreak was declared on Aug. 4 after three staff members tested positive — no residents contracted the virus, according to a media release from Island Health.

“The team at Discovery Harbour is to be commended for their exceptional work ensuring the outbreak did not spread further and continuing to provide high-quality care under challenging circumstances,” reads the release.

Social visits, admissions, transfers and resident movement between care home neighbourhoods can resume, according to Island Health. Diligent infection prevention measures and appropriate use of personal protective equipment will continue.
