Island Health’s Vax Van will make a stop near Parksville tomorrow (July 29) to provide first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Oceanside residents.

The mobile immunization clinic will be set up at the Mid-Island Co-Op Gas Bar (1401 Alberni Highway) from 1-6 p.m.

The van will make a stop in Port Alberni today (July 28) from 2-7 p.m. and has already done mobile clinics in Cobble Hill, Duncan and several spots in Nanaimo, according to Island Health.

Next it will travel to Langford on July 30, followed by Cumberland on Aug. 4 and Courtenay on Aug. 5.

Those attending Vax Van clinics are advised to stay hydrated and have something to eat before getting vaccinated, if possible. Although no appointment is required for first doses at any mobile clinic, you can save time by registering in advance at: getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca.

Anyone in need of a second dose of vaccine is advised to make an appointment at their nearest mass immunization clinic.
