Multiple downed power poles caused road closures in Parksville’s industrial area on Wednesday (July 14).
A logging truck struck a power line while exiting the Bayline Enterprises Inc. yard at the intersection of Herring Gull Way and Franklin Gull Road.
Four power poles collapsed after the collision and one leaned against the trailer of a nearby delivery truck. The delivery and log truck drivers stayed in their cabs until BC Hydro shut the power off.

Parksville Fire, Oceanside RCMP, BC Ambulance and BC Hydro were on scene. No injuries were reported.
The delivery driver said he heard sparks after the first pole collapsed and was not immediately sure what had hit his trailer. He said he was grateful the pole did not land on his cab and nobody was injured.
