Two people were taken to hospital after a vehicle collision at the intersection of Stanford Avenue and Corfield Street Friday evening.

“Upon arrival, our duty officer confirmed that one driver was trapped and required extrication from their vehicle,” said Assistant Fire Chief Mike Tisdelle. Parksville Fire Department was dispatched to the scene around 7:35 p.m.

The second driver was helped out of their vehicle by paramedics. Both were taken to hospital by BC Ambulance Service, Tisdelle said.

Two fire crews, Oceanside RCMP and paramedics attended the scene, according to Tisdelle. The cause of the accident has not been released.
