Fifteen propane tanks stolen in Parksville, valued at $1,000 — Oceanside Crime Report May 9–15

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP said it received 277 complaints.  

Theft 

-Four large rechargeable batteries were reported stolen from a portable electronic roadside sign in the 6900 block of Island Highway West, Bowser, on May 9.

-Fifteen propane tanks, valued at over $1,000, were reported stolen in the 200 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on May 10.

-A green 2004 Kawasaki KX85 dirt bike was reported stolen in the 100 block of Hilliers Road North, Qualicum Beach, on May 12.

-Heavy duty magnets used to keep a bus door opened were reported stolen in the 800 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on May 10.

-A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1200 block of Industrial Way, Parksville on May 14.

-A flag was reported stolen from the exterior of a business in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on May 10. A subject was captured on video surveillance.

-A 50’ garden hose was reported stolen in the 200 block of Elizabeth Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on May 9.

-A large 24” flower pot was reported stolen in the 100 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on May 10. Police were provided with video surveillance.

-Foot care tools, a DeWalt roller case and change were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Finholm Street North, Parksville on May 13.

Break and enter

-A business break and enter was reported in the 100 block of Second Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on May 10. Jewelry and other valuable noted missing.

Trespassing

-A person was reported climbing on the roof of a building in the 600 bock of Primrose Street, Qualicum Beach, on May 10.

-Locks were reported cut off a gated compound in the 200 block of Lions Way, Qualicum Bay, on May 12.

Vandalism

-A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 1600 block of Yeo Street, Nanoose Bay, on May 11.

-A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 600 block of Jones Street, Qualicum Beach, on May 12.

-Graffiti was reported on a building in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on May 13.

Prowler

-Prowlers were reported in the 2500 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on May 11.

-A prowler was reported in the 400 block of Garrett Road, Qualicum Beach, on May 13.
