Errington Fire Department, along with Coombs-Hilliers and Parksville Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on Dobler Road in Errington on Wednesday (May 19) afternoon.

A stray spark from the resident’s burn pile caused the small fire, which damaged about a two foot square on the mossy roof, according to Errington Fire Chief Troy Bater.

“He knocked most of it down with the garden hose — we got there and did the rest for him.”

No injuries were reported.
