Police are warning the public that a man who poses a significant risk to women, who is banned from central Vancouver Island, will be living in Vancouver.

John Ambrose Seward, 33, is serving a 10-year long-term supervision order for sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon and aggravated assault convictions.

Seward is described as Indigenous, 5 ft. 8 and has a medium build. He has short black hair and brown eyes. He has “MS” tattooed on his left hand, flames on his left forearm and a cross on his right forearm.

Police said Seward cannot go to central Vancouver Island and must immediately report all contact with females to his parole supervisor.

He cannot be in or near any park. Seward is not allowed to consume, purchase or possess alcohol or drugs, other than prescribed medication. He cannot associate with any person believed to be involved in criminal activity or substance misuse.

Seward must reside in a community correctional centre, community residential facility or other residential facility, according to police.

Anyone who witnesses him breaking any of his conditions is asked to call 9-1-1.
