PHOTOS: Demonstrators rally for old growth forest protection around Vancouver Island

Protesters rallied in communities around Vancouver Island on March 19, calling for the provincial government to to put a moratorium on old growth forest logging. 

Demonstrators stood in solidarity with Fairy Creek blockaders near Port Renfrew who could face an injunction, pending a BC Supreme Court decision on March 26.

The blockaders have been keeping logging company, Teal Jones Group, from building roads and logging in the Fairy Creek watershed since the fall.

There is a “Last Stand Mobilization” rally and march planned at the BC Legislative Assembly for March 27.
