Nanaimo RCMP said its investigation ruled out foul play in the death of a 59-year-old man on Dec.26.
The man’s body was found in the 400 block of Fitzwilliam Street in the early morning hours — an autopsy was completed on Dec. 31, police said.
RCMP said officers followed up on reports of loud noises heard around 11 p.m., close to where the body was discovered, but are confident the sounds were unrelated to the man’s death.
The BC Coroners Service is continuing with its investigation.
