Robbery at resort in Parksville leads to arrest

Latest Oceanside News

Oceanside RCMP responded to a robbery at a resort in Parksville last month. Police were called on Nov. 19 around 11:15 p.m when an employee who was leaving work saw a man cutting bike locks.

The employee knew the bikes belonged to the business and confronted the man, according to RCMP. Police said when 27-year-old Taylor Lee Carrigan was confronted, he punched the employee in the face and fled on a stolen bike.

At 11:30 p.m, after patrolling the area, police arrested Carrigan, who was in the process of disassembling the bicycle without incident, according to Corp. Jesse Foreman.

Carrigan has been release by the courts and will make an appearance on Dec. 8, facing charges of robbery.
