Nanaimo RCMP looking for suspect in attempted grocery theft

Nanaimo RCMP is asking for help identifying a man caught on camera leaving a grocery store with a large number of stolen items on Oct. 22, around 2:30 p.m.

Police said store security intervened when the man entered the parking lot and told him he was under arrest. The man left the items and ran away through the parking lot.

RCMP said the suspect is an Indigenous man, about 5 ft. 7, with a slim build and believed to be in his early to mid twenties. He was wearing a disposable face mask, black Adidas jacket and a Puma hoodie.
