Investigators looking for motorist who may have given ride to suspects the night before three bodies discovered near Qualicum Beach

Latest Oceanside News

Investigators with the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) are looking for a motorist who may have provided two people a ride the night three bodies were found in rural Qualicum Beach.

Police believe the two flagged down a light coloured sedan on Highway 19 near the scene.

Police said they are also hoping to speak with anyone who was in the area the night of Oct. 31/Nov. 1 and may have Go Pro or helmet cam footage. The gravel pit on Melrose Road is a popular area for quadders, dirt bikers and 4×4 enthusiasts, according to Cpl. Chris Manseau.

VIIMCU is done collecting physical evidence from the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the VIIMCU information line at 250-380-6211.

Three bodies were discovered Sunday after a motorcycle rider came across an unresponsive man and called emergency services. Police found two bodies in a burned-out trailer and a man in another trailer who was taken to hospital with bullet wounds.
