Nanaimo RCMP are seeking public assistance in locating a man who has a warrant out for his arrest for breaking and entering.

Bryan Highet, 37, is a Caucasian male, 6 ft., 170 lbs, with dark brown hair and green eyes, RCMP said.

It is alleged he stole several items from a sea can at a construction site on Gulfview Drive on August 17. A witness told investigators Highet was seen driving onto the site, where he allegedly took several items, including a Honda generator and a chainsaw, RCMP said.

“The witness was able to positively identify the accused and in late Sept. 2020, one charge of break and enter was sworn and a warrant was issued for Highet’s arrest,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, media relations officer for Nanaimo RCMP in a media release.

He said the picture provided was recently taken and if anyone has information on the whereabouts of Highet they can call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
